This rate sheet is subject to Golden State Legal, Inc.’s Terms of Service and is subject to change without notice.

The following rate information is specific to services within the following counties: Alameda, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara. Some locations within the aforementioned counties may be subject to rural/remote, and/or per trip fees. In the event your request for service falls within a region considered rural or extremely remote, advisement and adjusted service fees, or per trip fees will be provided before execution of your request for service in request of your written authorization to proceed.

Routine Service: All routine service orders are processed in the order they are received. On receipt of your routine service request, the assigned server will make their initial (or first) attempt within three (3) business days. Subsequent attempts are made every three to four days thereafter. Service will include a maximum of five (5) attempts to serve.

24-Hour Rush: All 24-Hour Rush serves are processed and executed the same day they are received provided the request for service is received before 3:00PM, Monday through Friday. 24-Hour Rush serves received from 3:00PM or later will be processed and executed the following business day. The assigned server will make the first attempt within 24-Hours upon receipt and includes a maximum of five (5) attempts to serve. (Business or Commercial serves are attempted during the next business day unless otherwise instructed in writing.)

Expedited / Same-Day Service: Service is contingent on availability of server, time of receipt and a number of other factors. Golden State Legal, Inc. requests checking in advance for availability of this service prior to the submission of your request to confirm availability and coverage within the area (county) your service will be directed to.

  • Business: All requests for expedited / same-day service going to a business or commercial locations must be received before 1:00PM. All requests received after 1:00PM or later are processed and executed the following business day unless you call to make special arrangements and check availability.
  • Residential: All requests for expedited / same-day service going to a residential address must be received before 3:00PM on the day of your request. All requests received after 3:00PM or later are processed and executed the following business day, unless you call to make special arrangements.

The assigned server will make their initial (first) attempt the same day on receipt of the service documents contingent on receipt of your documents as outlined above and will include a maximum of (5) attempts to serve.

Service Disclaimer: Golden State Legal, Inc. does not provide any service guarantee, expressed or implied, or by any means of service. Through its network of reputable, registered process servers, all efforts will be made to satisfy all requirements for service in accordance of all rules, regulations, requirements, and laws – local or originating U.S. State – as it pertains to the lawful service of your legal documents. On commencement of your request for service, all service fees are final, whether your request for service is deemed successful (served) or unsuccessful (not served).

All inquiries, complaints, or requests for refunds must be made in writing to Golden State Legal, Inc. by e-mail at orders@goldenstatelegal.com or by mail to: Golden State Legal, [address, city, state, zip]. All claims requesting refund will be carefully reviewed on a case-by- case basis in keeping with Golden State Legal, Inc.’s terms of service.

1General Serves includes, but is not limited to, Summons and Complaints, Unlawful Detainers, Family Law, Small Claims, and Notices regardless of destination address (commercial or residential).

2Discounted rates are applicable only if all defendants are served at the same time. In the event service cannot be accomplished on all defendants at the same time, routine rates per each defendant will be applicable. This includes, but is not limited to, all applicable fees associated with your service through the completion of your service.

3Several regions within the counties Golden State Legal, Inc. serves are considered either rural and/or remote. As an example: All coastal cities past Pacifica, California are considered to be remote due to limited, restricted, and/or rural access roads. In the event the address for service provided falls within such a region, advisement will be provided in writing (via e-mail) prior to execution of your request for service to obtain your written authorization in acknowledgement of the fees and your authorization to proceed with your request for service.

Furthermore, as an example, there are regions within San Mateo County, both residential and commercial, which are located within mountainous, secluded areas of their respective cities. Because of the extremely remote and/or rural nature of these locations, per trip fees may be assessed and included as part of your request for service. Golden State Legal, Inc. will provide prior advisement in writing detailing all the applicable services fees for your review, and acknowledgement and written authorization prior to execution of your request for service.

4For service outside of Alameda, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara counties, or throughout the state of California, or throughout the contiguous United States, Golden State Legal, Inc. strongly advises a quote for service be submitted by e-mail to orders@goldenstatelegal.com which includes all the details of your service, including, but not limited to, the address for service in order to furnish an accurate and up-to-date service quote in writing. Services outside of the aforementioned counties, within the State of California or throughout the contiguous United States is not guaranteed, may be subject to associated and/or applicable service fees, and solely contingent on availability of a registered process server within the requested area of service. Furthermore, return of services (i.e., status updates and/or proof of service, affidavit, inquiries, etc.) are not guaranteed in an expedient form. Golden State Legal, Inc. does not directly employ any process servers within the State of California, outside the State of California or throughout the contiguous United States. All contracted, registered process servers utilized by Golden State Legal, Inc. are independent contractors and not directly subject to or inclusive of Golden State Legal, Inc.’s terms of service, processes, procedures, policies, etc.; this is with exception only to the rules, regulations, laws and/or requirements as established for Registered Process Servers in accordance with the local and state rules for service of process.

5All requests for stakeout must be pre- arranged and are contingent on the availability of a registered process server on the date and time being requested. All requests for stakeout are subject to a two- hour minimum regardless of the duration and/or outcome of the service, whether the server is successful or unsuccessful in having your documents served during the period of  the  requested stakeout. Furthermore, the stakeout fee is a separate fee from that of your service and may also be applicable to any additional and/or associated service fees. As an example: In the even the server is successful in serving your documents during the assigned stakeout period, the additional fee for your service(s) will be applicable contingent on the number of defendants being served. Additional and applicable fees are contingent on the type of service requested: 24-Hour Rush, Expedited/Same-Day Service. Additional and applicable fees may also be contingent on location: Remote or Rural, Out of County, or Out of State.

Cancellation of stakeout services must be made at a minimum of two-hours prior to the commencement of the service.

Cancellation of stakeout services made once the service has begun or is in progress will not mitigate, cancel, or void the two-hour minimum fee which is applicable regardless of the duration of the service. All clients are strongly encouraged and requested to check in advance by e-mail for server availability.

6Invoiced Accounts: For expediency of your service where a fee advance is required, Golden State Legal, Inc. will forward any required fee advances associated with your service documents, and for all clients with accounts in good standing. A ten percent (10%) service fee will be assessed on advanced fees, or minimum of $2.50 – whichever amount is greater. This service fee assessment is per each advanced fees and/or check.

Fees advanced in excess of $100 must be reimbursed to Golden State Legal, Inc. within two (2) business days. Invoiced clients with delinquent and/or unpaid accounts will be required to furnish advanced fees at the time of service, immediately payable by Credit Card only – no exceptions. Pre-paid and In Pro Per Accounts: Advanced fees are applicable to the fee terms as outlined here and are required to provide immediate payment of all advanced fees by Credit Card Only – no exceptions.
